This four-part documentary explores Meredith Hodges’ journey from horse trainer to leading expert on mules and donkeys. Interviews and archival footage entertain and inform as they detail a path of discovery from Meredith’s introduction to mules to her ground-breaking work as trainer, breeder, competitor and advocate.  Approximately 108 minutes including the Special Features.

An exploration of the beginnings of the Lucky Three Ranch following Meredith Hodges from her first introduction to mules and the sometimes humorous trial-and-error process that inspired her to create a resistance-free training program for equines based on respect, communication and athletic conditioning. Special guest appearance by Little Jack Horner.

• Part 2 Description

Meredith Hodges recounts the struggles she and her mules faced as they challenged themselves and the long-held misperceptions about mules by becoming fierce, record-breaking competitors. Special guest appearance by Little Jack Horner.

• Part 3 Description

Meredith Hodges’ journey leads her to the role of Longears Advocate as she educates people using art – with the help of a friendly, animated mule named Jasper and a team of talented sculptors.

• Part 4 Description

Meredith Hodges and her mules continue their adventures at Bishop Mule Days, where they are challenged to their limits in dressage, side-saddle, and English jumping. Archival footage details their rocky but triumphant Road to Bishop. Special guest appearance by Little Jack Horner.
